HomeConn Boilerplate:

HomeConn is an event focused on exploring how the deployment of millions of smart meters and smart energy appliances will create new and vibrant markets for smart home devices.

Where the smart home really differs is that it has an installed communications infrastructure which allows the various systems and devices in the home such as security, lighting, air conditioning, etc., to communicate and interact with each other. This interconnection will form the backbone for the new wave of energy management applications and solutions, the need for which is being driven globally by the requirement to dramatically reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2008, HomeConn will be held May 20-22, 2008, at the Santa Clara Convention Center as part of ConnectivityWeek 2008.
